Developing An Optimistic Attitude
How s your attitude lately. I caught myself doing something surprising a few days ago: being a pessimist. I was working on a big project and making great progress, when suddenly I encountered a big obstacle that would take more time and energy to get through than I had anticipated. The first words out of my mouth were, Of course, everything always goes wrong for me. Who said that. I tend to think of myself as a positive person most of the time. I almost always have a smile or laugh available, and I try to look on the bright side of things. But I wasn t always like that. I spent most of my early life stuck in negative thinking. For the past few years I ve worked very hard on changing my mindset to a positive one, and helping others to do the same. The other day I realized just how easy it is to slip back into negative thinking again. To be fair to myself, I was frustrated when I uttered that negative phrase. It s understandable that we get upset when things go wrong. However, what I said simply isn t true. Everything always goes wrong for me. At that moment, all of the hard work I ve done on myself over the...
Focus On Vietnam
This is mostly down to a relaxation in Vietnams economic policies allowing the country to finally start realising its true potential. Many visitors are overwhelmed by the sublime beauty of the country s natural setting; the stunning hills, mountains and valleys to be explored in the north; the Mekong Delta in the south and the many hundreds of miles of deserted beaches that lie in-between. The majority of our itineraries allow you to travel the length of the country ensuring you get to enjoy...
Vincent Van Gogh
The Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh has produced some of the world s most popular, most beloved and most expensive paintings. Despite his great success, he was also known as a tortured, lonely artist who many felt was mad or at least on the verge of insanity. It is a testament to his immense talent that today, a century after he has died, the world still remembers Vincent Van Gogh. Of course, we have to acknowledge the fact that not everyone who remembers Van Gogh does so entirely because of his art. People also remember Van Gogh because of the story that has been immortalized in songs about how he cut off his ear and committed suicide because his genius was not recognized during his time. But the history books reveal that this may not exactly be the case. While it is true that Van Gogh had bouts of madness, it is also true that he his work was greatly praised by his fellow artists and radical art critics just before his death. It seems that the story has intertwined both myth and reality. As an artist, Van Gogh was actually a late bloomer and he only spent about 10 years on his craft. Before becoming an...
